StoneGate — Mammoth Lakes' Newest Luxury Town Homes

StoneGate is Mammoth Lakes newest Luxury Town homes located at 5808 Minaret Rd, near The Village and on the Starwood Golf Course.

It’s an incredible setting with the tall Jeffery Pines swaying in the breeze and the acres of green grass rolling off to the backdrop of the Majestic Sierra! Situated right on the 6th fairway of Sierra Star Golf Course.

Not only is the setting breathtaking, the homes themselves are the finest that Mammoth has to offer.  You will realize that Mammoth has come of age when you pass through the custom made front door of StoneGate!

Sierra Design Studio and Julie Johnson-Holland created a luxurious model that is one of our finest.  This model can be found in “The Lodge “style floor plan.  Its 3,400 sq ft of Luxury, walking distance to the Village, at 5808 Minaret Rd.

These magnificent homes were designed by Mammoth’s own premier architect, Elliott Brainard. His local knowledge of the area and experience in Mammoth design assists in understanding the right exposure and desirable floor plans to suit the upscale buyer of this property. Elliott also designed the Sierra Design Studio at 550 Old Mammoth Rd., among many other local commercial locations.

As you enter the Lodge model of StoneGate, the floors are a combination of rugged slate and distressed 3/4” hickory wood floors.  The rich deep brown finish of the floor is a perfect compliment to the stone used on the oversized fireplace which is Eagle Moss Rock.  The gas fireplace insert is 42”. At the top of the stairs near the impressive stone fireplace is an antique sleigh that has been made into a bench.

As you enter the great room, the most prominent feature is the grand views beneath the hand-hewned arched trusses.  Beneath those beautiful arches, Julie designed a custom made sofa that is a combination of leather and rust chenille with touches of gold.  The sofa was made locally, as we like to try to support the artists and craftsmen who live and work in the Eastern Sierra.

The two loveseats facing one another are dark brown leather and the coffee table is a leather covered piece that lends itself to the rugged atmosphere.

This cozy combination sit atop a colorful hand made Tibetan carpet, from Tufenkian.  Off the great room is a deck that overlooks the fairway and has a fantastic view to Laurel Mountain.

The dining room, between the kitchen and the living area has a distress trestle table with chairs that are upholstered in a beautiful chenille tapestry fabric with colors that bring the warm tones of rust and orange into the seating of the table.  The table is set with bright Italian dishes in red and chocolate brown.

Sub- Zero is the standard in the designer kitchen, complete with wine refrigerator and copper sinks.  A commercial style range and double drawer dishwasher make this kitchen a state-of-the art chef’s delight!

On the same floor as the Great room is the Master bedroom.  It’s large with a vaulted ceiling and has another stone fireplace with a large gas fireplace insert.

Julie had a custom made bed frame, armoire and nightstands from Guatemala.  The king size bed is topped with a comfortable duvet in bronze and rose colored floral ensemble.  The bedding compliments the straw color ribbed carpeting and the rich paint colors.  The bed frame has been a big hit with several customers wanting one just like it.

In the master bath, the vanity is a solid piece of honed rainforest stone, very natural and the perfect compliment to the other finish details.

Upstairs is a loft that overlooks the great room and has an open feeling with the wire mesh used for the security between the handrail and the lower rail of the railing.

We put a large sectional and a game table in this room to give the kids a place to disappear in while the parents are busy below.

Downstairs and off of the entry, you pass through an area to put coats and boots that is also just off the oversized garage and the laundry room. After passing that area, you arrive at a downstairs den.  It’s a perfect place to relax and watch TV; a custom TV cabinet from Sierra Design Studio was used here.  In this den, we used one of our signature leather sofas with hand stitched “Whip” stitching on the edges. An unusual lamp on the end table looks like staggered bark and gives a modern/rustic quality to the setting.

There are three downstairs bedrooms just off of the den.

A bunk room has a double/twin hickory bunk bed with bedding in a rich chocolate blanket fabric. A hickory nightstand and armoire are also in this room.

Another bedroom across the hall has a Calif. King bed that has antique pressed tin panels to offset the wood frame. Lighting on the nightstands is again, rustic and slightly modern to look to fit today’s homebuyer’s desire for a rustic style with a contemporary twist.

In the last bedroom downstairs, Julie used a leather sleigh bed with leather topped nightstands.

All of the bedrooms have their own private bath making 4 ¾ total for the comfortable living space of the luxurious home in Mammoth lakes.

StoneGate has raised the bar for the current standard of luxury homebuilding with all the state of the art appliances, fixtures and attention to detail.  It’s a rustic styled town home that is just worlds apart from the rest.

Sierra Design Studio, Mammoth Lake’s premier Interior Design Studio and Home Furnishing showroom, invites you to take a look at their latest work at StoneGate’s “Lodge Model” home.  You can even buy one for yourself and be amongst the lucky elite homeowners in Mammoth Lakes.
