Sierra Design
Studio is located in the resort town of Mammoth Lakes, a prominent
ski area (Mammoth Mountain, 11,053 feet). Mammoth Lakes is on
the Eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevada Range. The town is at
an elevation of 8,000 feet, with mountain peaks rising to 14,000
feet. Nearby are the natural geographic wonders of Mount Whitney
to the south, the highest peak in the continental U.S. at 14,494
feet; Death Valley, the lowest point in the U.S., elevation 282
feet below sea level; to the west is Yosemite National Park and
to the north, Mono Lake. Mammoth Lakes not only hosts some of
the best alpine skiing in the world, it is also a popular summer
destination for fishermen and outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors enjoy
rock climbing in the Owens Gorge, backpacking throughout the Sierra,
mountain biking on the fantastic mountain trails just some
of the ways people are discovering the magic of the Eastern Sierra.
Access
via air service:
Reno/Tahoe airport, 175 miles north of Mammoth Lakes. Air service
will be coming soon to the Mammoth/Yosemite Airport (more details
later).
