This home
was originally built as a spec house by Dempsey Construction
in the 1990's. The current owner purchased it in 1995 and
redecorated it to make a contemporary mountain home into a
traditional retreat. The owner loves rich dark wood finishes,
so most of the furnishings, from Cal Mode and Bausman Furniture,
have an Old World look.
The living
room features a large handmade Tufenkian Carpet in terra cotta,
gold and green. The sectional is an olive green suede fabric.
In the
master bedroom, Robin Stater of Sierra Design Studio designed
the custom bedding, in Waverly fabric on a Cal Mode bed. The
armoire was also custom designed by Robin Stater and fabricated
by Cal Mode. Floor-to-ceiling green velvet drapes are motorized
for convenience.
The son's
bedroom has a custom log bunk bed, twin on top and full-sized
on the bottom. The wall mural was hand painted by Beti Kristof
and designed by Robin Stater. In the den custom drapes, designed
by Robin, are a Brunswig and Fil fabric.
The kitchen
dining area features Pierre Duex wallpaper, and custom drapes
designed by Robin.
